Hotel Capsis Bristol is located in one of the historical buildings of Thessaloniki, on the corner of Katouni and Oplopiou Street, in Ladadika quarter.
The same building hosted the post office of the city, during the years of Othomanic occupation. This building was miraculously saved from the catastrophic fire of 1917 that reduced an important part of the city to ashes.
Therefore, the word "Bristol" is synonymous with the word inn. Tradition says that since then, every town can host only one "Bristol".
